Cambodia, formerly known as Kampuchea was the seat of the Hindu and Buddhist Khmer Empire during the 11th and 14th centuries. The Mekong river, the longest in South East Asia and the tenth largest in the world can be found here.

It houses the world famous Angkor Wat, which was built in the early 12th century influenced by the Khmer architecture.

The rainy season covers the month of May to October while the dry season runs from November to April. Temperature averages 27 degree Celsius.

Wearing shorts when visiting temples such as Angkor Wat is not advisable. Dollars are accepted almost everywhere in Cambodia.
