On Board
What is an Onboard Expense Account? How does it work?

An Onboard Expense Account is the cashless system used for all onboard purchases and services.

The account may be set-up with either a credit card or as a cash account. You may establish a master account and add guests from your stateroom or another stateroom as authorized purchasers on your account.

For each purchase made onboard the ship you will receive a receipt at the point of sale. A final statement will be delivered to your stateroom on the last night of your cruise vacation for your review.

Guests that set up an account with a credit card should verify the statement. If all purchases are correct, they will automatically be billed to the credit card.

Guests on a cash account will need to settle their statement onboard prior to disembarking. The ship will provide you with specific details.

All prices are per-person, based on a double occupancy of the stateroom and are quoted in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise noted. The cruise fares quoted also do not include any applicable government taxes, fees, or surcharges that may be assessed by any governmental agencies. Such assessment is subject to change without notice at any time whether or not you have a confirmed booking under deposit or if you have made a final payment.

Can I bring liquor (from home or from a port) onboard?

Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports-of-call or from Shops On Board will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of the sailing.

Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

What about tipping?

Tipping - So that you can thank those who have made your cruise vacation better than you could have imagined, we've developed these gratuity guidelines:

Suite attendant: $5.75 USD a day per guest
Stateroom attendant: $3.50 USD a day per guest
Dining Room Waiter: $3.50 USD a day per guest
Assistant Waiter: $2.00 USD a day per guest
Headwaiter: $2.75 USD a day per guest
Note: These gratuities apply to guests of all ages.
Gratuities for other service personnel are at your discretion. A 15% gratuity will automatically be added to your bar bill or wine check when you are served.

Will I need cash for expenses on board?

Once on board, you can leave your wallet in your cabin.

As soon as you embark you will be given an easy-to-use magnetised card that will become your means of payment on board.

Whenever you make a purchase at the duty free shop, or order a cocktail, for example, the corresponding amount will be debited on your account. At the end of your cruise you will be able to settle your account either in cash or with a credit card.

If registered during one of the first days of your cruise only in the Casino you will be needing cash money.

What sort of people will I meet on board?

Our clients are mainly Italian, French, German, Spanish, but there will undoubtedly be passengers of other nationalities, too. Whatever part of the world your traveling companions come from, they will all have one thing in common – the desire to enjoy themselves.

And whatever your age, the relaxed, intimate atmosphere of your cruise will help to foster new friendships.

Whether you want to join in the numerous on-board activities, or enjoy some well-earned peace and quiet, your choice will be respected by all.

Is it possible to get in touch with land while the ship is at sea?

You can get in touch with friends and relatives at any time.

All our ships enjoy a modern system of communications via satellite, enabling you to telephone whoever you want to from the comfort of your cabin.

Is the water on the ship safe to drink?

Yes. All drinking water is either distilled from seawater or loaded onboard while the ship is in port. Royal Caribbean adheres to Vessel Sanitation System standards published by the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS). USPHS conducts inspections of the ship both during its construction and throughout the year to ensure compliance.

What items are not allowed onboard the cruise ship?

Aside from the obvious (and illegal) items not allowed onboard, there are other items we cannot accommodate onboard.

Prohibited items: Bicycles, surfboards, skateboards, hockey sticks, personal alcohol, HAM radio equipment

Are there e-mail and Internet service onboard?
